# Lemurs: Madagascar's Living Treasures
Lemurs are the ambassadors of Madagascar. These unique primates in the world are found nowhere else on the planet.
## Why are they so special?
Isolated for 88 million years, lemurs have evolved uniquely. There are now over 100 different species, from the tiny 30-gram mouse lemur to the majestic 10 kg indri.
## Must-see species
### Indri Indri
The largest lemur, recognizable by its powerful cry that echoes through the forest. Andasibe Park: the best place to observe it.
### Ring-tailed Lemur
With its black and white ringed tail, it's the most photogenic lemur! Anja Reserve and Isalo Park are its favorite habitats.
### Sifaka
This white lemur literally dances when moving on the ground. An unforgettable spectacle in Kirindy forest.
### Mouse Lemur
The smallest primate in the world! Observe it at night during a night walk.
